Note: The photo showing the speckled back is NOT a white-winged dove ... it is a mourning dove. Both of these types of doves are frequently seen together. The white-winged dove has a distinctive white bar at the base of the wing (not found on the mourning dove). Likewise, the white-wing dove does not have a speckled back (found on the mourning dove). As a 3rd distinguishing characteristic, the mourning dove is more gray colored; whereas, the mourning dove's chest is a bit on rusty colored side.
