Fuchsias
Fuchsias are a genus of flowering plants native to the Dominican Republic and Haiti. Discovered in the 17th century by French botanist and monk Charles Plumier, fuchsias are grown as an ornamental plant much prized for their unique flowers. There are 110 recognized species of fuchsia today. The fruits of some fuchsia flowers are edible and are made into jams and jellies.
