It grows wil...Read Mored on the most minute rock crack. It produces leaves around its base that look very much like those of celery. In mid April long stalks develop within a few days and the flowers show about the end of April. It reaches a height of about 1.5 meters (5 feet) and mature plants have upto 30 stalks filled with flowers. The locals eat the leaves in the salad.
The plant cannot stand the heat of the cretan summer. It dries quickly and appears again next year. It is surprising how little it is known and appreciated. I have not found found seeds on the mature stalks. I will try again this month.
