I LOVE Toadflax!! I live in Central Texas (zone 8/9) and it is definitely an annual here. It will re-seed itself but I always spread some seeds also, because I want to be sure to have some. The directions from the seed company say to
"plant in early spring because the seedlings are not hardy" --- but they are! At least, they have been for me down to the high-20's. And if they are planted later in the spring, they do not live up to their potential of abundant and gorgeous colors/blooms.

I took some of the plants pulled from that site and have a test plot in my yard to see how it will do in my garden. It is very beautiful, the foliage, the flowers are incredibly interesting. I hope it does not get invasive and be listed as a noxious weed like its cousins yellow and dalmation toadflax.

The flowers remind me of fat little budgerigars and its easy to see why its called the 3 bird toadflax.
Not fully hardy. Easy from seed and may even self seed.
