We have a male Hooded Merganser near my home. He regularly is seen hanging out with a pair of Mallard ducks. When we had historic flooding a few years ago he allowed me to get quite close with my camera.

We have a mated pair that come in to our pond in the winter time. They are very shy and don't allow you to get very close, but how beautiful they are!
