I saw a Swainson's Thrush for the first time a few days ago. It was totally by accident since they blend in so well with their surroundings.

After listening to some of their assorted songs on a couple of bird websites, I realized I'd been hearing their beautiful songs for a while before ever seeing one.

They're elusive and pretty quick so I found it hard to get decent pictures, but watching them was fascinating.

One of them I watched appeared to be eating grubs (a real plus). Unfortunately they only visit my area during migration.
