Phoenicopteriformes
Greater Flamingo
Do you have Phoenicopteriformes on your lawn? You do if you have a plastic yard flamingo, for the flamingo is part of the order Phoenicopteriformes. These birds stand three to five feet tall and feed by wading into the water and scooping water into their bills. Within their bills are comb-like bristles that help them filter small fish and shellfish from the water for food. They often stand on one foot while feeding.
