Cariamiformes
Red-legged Seriema
Cariamiformes have roamed the Earth for over 63 million years - literally roamed the earth, because they are flightless birds. Cariamiformes are now found only in South America, where two species continue to survive. Red-legged Cariamiformes roam the grasslands, and black-legged Criamiformes roam the woods of Brazil and nearby countries. These omnivorous birds eat insects, snails, reptiles, and berries.
