The solifuge would attack a scorpion? I'm sure there would be easier pray for this soft bodied arachnid, a scorpion is armoured, angry, has claws and can sting so I don't see a compelling reason for a solifuge attacking a scorpion unless its desperate for food.especially since the mandibles can't even break human skin but it can break a scorpions exo?

This is one of the largest of the North American 'sun spiders'. The largest ones in the world (Galeodes arabs and Galeodes caspica) are found in northern Africa and the deserts of western Asia. They sometimes feature in newspaper articles about troops stationed out there.
This species hunts at night and often eats scorpions, but many are active during day time. You're unlikely to see this in your garden, unless you live near a desert.
They're not venomous, but can and will give you a painful bite if you try to pick them up.
