The flower...Read More have the darkest hue I've ever seen, Very burgundy, almost black yet on the outer petal there's some trace of red to it if you look hard enough. Mine have less pointy serrated petal but as later in the season the serration is more prominent. Flower size stated in DG as dinner-plate, mine is smaller but the plant habit is like a dinner plate, it needs staking. .Most big dahlia gives up fast in a vase, but this one is the last one to shatter and petals falling. Oh, in a mix bouquet of pastel dahlias this dark beauty stands out. Very happy with this winner.
