Phaethontiformes
Red-tailed Tropicbird
Once considered part of the order Pelecaniformes, Phaethontiformers were separated into their own order. These aquatic birds feed in the water, plunging through the surface and diving for their prey. They feed on flying fish, other types of fish and squid. Tropicbirds are solitary, except during breeding season when they form colonies, and they avoid other bird species as much as possible.
