Gaviiformes
Common Loon, Great Northern Diver
Gaviiformes is an order of aquatic birds, including loons. Unlike other aquatic birds, Gaviiformes are the divers of the bird world, diving deep into the water in search of food. In prehistoric times, Gaviformes were common worldwide. Five existing species from the order of Gaviformes remain in the world and are found in North America and Eurasia.
