these roaches are disgusting. although not too common, they are a pest from South America that can cause damage to your plants and crops. they hide in dark places and in the dirt. if you have lots of mulch, they are probably hiding under there.
i find them burrowing away from my trowel and freak out because of their appearance. they like to hide in potted plants especially, o be careful when you bring your houseplants in/out.
according to all the research done, there are only females of this species living in the US - they reproduce without the males present. maybe that controls the population somewhat. they are known pests in Florida, Louisiana and Texas.
