I do not know if the Mexican Fritillary uses Turnera diffusa exclusively as a host and may use other plants from the Family Passifloraceae as well.

Also, the photo of the chrysalis shows a newly formed chrysalis which may change appearance somewhat as it matures. This photo does not quite convey how stunning the silver and gold markings are.
