Thought I saw a grasshopper on one of my milkweeds, but the antennae seemed much too long. Tried to blast it off with the hose, but the bug was quite tenacious. Hey, those plants are for my butterflies. Hands off!

Description: Tettigoniids are predominantly medium to large (1 to 2-1/2 inches long), winged or short-winged, green to brownish insects with long, hair-like (filamentous) antennae, and hind legs modified for jumping.
