It likes sunny, dry or fast draining areas in the garden. Some of the plants are 3 feet tall, a few as tall as 5 ft. It is the prettiest and most garden worthy verbascum I have grown. The only negative is putting up with the spent flower spike looking ugly as it ripens if seed saving is desired. From what I have read, verbascum has a really long storage life, so seed saving has not seemed necessary every year. It looks really nice with other cottage flowers like clarkia and hollyhock. It blooms as early as Mid April or as late mid June.
