Taken on 16th July 2008, Lincoln UK. The largest and easiest of the three British Phycitodes species to identify, having larger black marks on a paler background.

Wingspan of 22-27mm, it flies in June & July, and is not very common. Larvae feed inside flowerheads of spear thistle, (Cirsium vulgare).
