I just wanted to post to say I am in Western NY and this year is the first I recall seeing these guys and they are everywhere! They do very much make me think of Fairies. And even as I\'m writing this they keep landing on me. Do they bite!?

We've been seeing hundreds of these little things flying around our property in East Texas. At first, we thought they might be spores or seed pods, until we caught a few and studied them up close. Interesting little things. Hope they don't destroy anything important.

Have Always Loved this little things. They look like microscopic faeries floating around. We haven't seen them in years. We used to see them like clockwork in Upstate NY in the Catskill Mountains where we lived every year in the 1980's. Very Neat and Magical Looking to say the least.

Had never seen a bug like this here in northern wi - in fact, at first we thought it it was just some fuzz in the air, until it landed and we got a closer look! Interesting.

One day when I was walking through the woods on a hiking trail in Ohio,I saw hundreds of these little fellas covering a low tree branch.(I have pictures of them.)When I touched them, they would wiggle back and forth but they did not fly off.I have seen them flying as well.I used to call them fuzz bugs until I looked on the internet one day.But the name I saw for them was Beech Blight Aphid and they are identical to the picture that you have posted. So,are these called Woolly Aphids or Beech Blight Aphids? And what is the difference between a Woolly Aphid and a Beech Blight Aphid?

I found these aphids in Bryson City, NC, at the Deep Creek national park. No one knew what they were, so I have researched them. I thought they were duck down feathers floating around until one lighted on my arm. They are very interesting and I have a couple of pictures myself.
