I've always enjoyed getting my hands in the dirt and attempting to make things grow. Living in an apartment, it was always potted plants that would eventually die and I wouldn't have to feel too badly. Now, however, I've bought a home with beautiful gardens, front and back. The challenge is to keep it all alive, thriving and to add my own touches. How to keep everything happy? Giant, old, Japanese Maple tree. Lemon tree. Old apple (gravenstein?) tree that looks like it needs some tree surgeon attention. Tulip tree that seems happy, but when do I prune? MANY rose bushes. Hydrangea. Camelia. Rhodies. Azalias. Potato vine. Jasmine (a couple varieties). Bulbs galore. Bougenvilla. Calalillies.
