These purple flowers are about 3 inches long and there are about 20 of them in each cluster. They are quite fragrant.

San Fernando Valley tree that flowered this spring (this is late fall- just before leaves fall off) full of seed. Age of this tree unknown, but seems to have been pruned back some.
