The Scorpion fly got its name because of the male?s tail that is long and curls just like a scorpion?s tail. Scorpion flies have long wings and slender bodies. As scavengers, they are found in gardens and woodlands and they feed mostly on dead insects. Female scorpion flies are known to choose their mates based on the quality of prey given to them during their mating rituals.
